Il corso si prefigge di introdurre i temi della strategia, politica di difesa e sviluppo del potere militare con particolare riferimento all’Italia. Lo scopo del corso è dunque quello di portare gli studenti a familiarizzare con il concetto di strategia nazionale e con gli attori e le dinamiche della politica di difesa, di informarli su alcune delle tematiche fondamentali relative allo sviluppo delle Forze Armate, e di presentare un quadro teorico di riferimento per l'analisi delle politiche di difesa nazionale.
