Internationalization
According to the University’s three-year Programming Document 2024/26, internationalization covers directly or indirectly the three fundamental areas of Research, Teaching, and Third Mission. It includes a range of activities, tools, and projects that permeate the life of the Department to create a constant relationship with Universities and institutional partners worldwide, protect the international dimension of all scientific expertise in the Department with a special focus on interdisciplinarity, and enhance the variety of linguistic skills of the scientific and student community of the Department, thus strengthening the international mobility of the Department, for both incoming and outgoing students and teachers.
The main objectives of Internationalization in Political Science are:
- development of international projects and the promotion of competitive calls that support international research activities and/or teaching, conferences, workshops, Summer Schools, Visiting Professors, and publications with researchers from international institutions;
- international education through the promotion of degree courses and teachings in foreign languages, double and joint degrees, career abbreviations and the increase in the number of students regularly enrolled in degree courses at the Department of Political Science;
- international mobility (lecturers, students, staff) for study, research, internships/traineeships, and for the transfer of information between different Universities on working methods and best practices;
- participation in networks and associations that deepen the international dimension of Research, Teaching, and Third Mission in the academic community and provide tools to increase the user base of the educational offer in foreign languages available at the Department of Political Science.
For students of Political Science, Internationalization is meant as an integral part of their educational path to be carried out both abroad and at the Department’s headquarters, through the encountering of incoming students, by attending guest lectures and seminars held by Visiting Professors, by participating in conferences and other international events, and by accessing to the wide range of options in terms of academic offer in foreign languages.
