Programma
The program is divided into two parts, preceded by an introductory section that explores the concepts underlying the Francophone world through the lens of the French language. The first part aims to illustrate, from a diachronic perspective, the morphosyntactic foundations of modern French and some key stages in the evolution of the language, as seen through so-called foundational texts. The second part focuses on the institutional relationships between France and the Francophone world, with particular attention given to the Francophone South (Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania). This section concludes with a case study, which involves an authentic, full-length text. Except for the full text chosen for the case study (a long essay or novel from Sub-Saharan Africa), all other texts are available on Moodle and will be part of the exam.NB.
