This course focuses on the contemporary history of international relations in East Asia. Particular attention will be devoted to the positions occupied by Japan and China during the Cold War years, as well as to their interactions both with the other regional actors, the two Superpowers and Europe. The analysis of the factors generated by the bipolar order will facilitate the identification of continuity and discontinuity lines in the broader context of globalization.

Programma

Modalità Erogazione

In case of an extension of the health emergency caused by COVID-19, all the provisions that regulate the methods of carrying out the teaching activities and student assessment will be implemented. In particular, the following methods will apply: lessons delivered remotely via Moodle and Microsoft Teams, platforms through which oral exams will also take place.

Modalità Frequenza

To be considered as attending the course, students must ensure at least 80% of their attendance.

Modalità Valutazione

The evaluation will be a continuous process for the students who attend the course and will be divided into different moments (a mid-term test, a laboratory in which the students are directly involved, a final test) whose results will form an aggregate data for the final outcome.
